Our Leadership

Our family, caring for yours

Angela Reith

I have dedicated over 40 years to the care sector, but my journey began much earlier. At just 13 years old, I became a carer for my mother, who was left disabled by a brain tumour, while also raising my younger siblings. It was a challenging time with very little support, but it shaped my lifelong commitment to caring for others.

After my mother’s passing, I was able to pursue further education at college and university before starting my professional career in social care. I began working for Social Services, where I progressed into management roles, helping to establish children’s homes and deliver services to support vulnerable people. Alongside my career, I have always remained active in voluntary work and community projects.

In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, I witnessed firsthand the lack of choice many older people faced when it came to their care. Too often, individuals were moved into residential or nursing homes—not because they wanted to, but because there were no alternatives. This experience inspired me to create my own home care business, built on the principle of giving people the choice to remain in their own homes with the right support.

Since then, the business has grown significantly. We have expanded our premises twice and established a community hub, where volunteers work alongside us to support local people. Looking back, I know this was the right path—not just for me, but for the many individuals and families we’ve had the privilege to support.

Our company motto is simple: “Because we care, and we do.” Every person we support is treated like a member of our own family, and our staff are dedicated to going the extra mile. Compassion and person-centred care remain at the very heart of everything we do.

Our CQC rating

We understand that when looking into care, it can be confusing and complex, we want to make everything as simple as possible in this journey. Finding the right provider of care is important and it's important for us to explain our CQC rating below in detail to help you understand. You will find the link to the full report and we are always available for any questions you may have.

At Later Life Care, transparency and quality are at the heart of everything we do.

Following our first-ever inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), we want to share our rating, celebrate our successes, and outline how we have improved from their inspection.

The CQC has assessed our service based on five key questions:

  • Safe: Requires Improvement
  • Effective: Good
  • Caring: Good
  • Responsive: Good
  • Well-Led: Requires Improvement

We are proud to have achieved “Good” in three categories during our first inspection and welcome the opportunity for the CQC to revisit in the future. Our goal is to continue improving and strive toward achieving “Outstanding” in all areas.

What We’re Doing Well
