We are the only home care provider based in Sheringham, regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), dedicated to serving our local area.

Our mission is straightforward: prioritising care. To achieve this, we ensure our services are safe, effective, and tailored to individual needs, led by our highly experienced team.

Later Life Care was established in 2020 and since we have steadily grown. In this time, we have completed over 70,000 care visits.
​
Utilising advanced care monitoring software of the highest quality, we simplify the lives of our carers and maintain continuity of care for our clients. Additionally, loved ones can securely access their dedicated portal, providing peace of mind.

Following our first-ever inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), we want to share our rating, celebrate our successes, and outline how we have improved from their inspection.

We are proud to have achieved “Good” in three categories during our first inspection and welcome the opportunity for the CQC to revisit in the future. Our goal is to continue improving and strive toward achieving “Outstanding” in all areas.

The CQC recognised our strong commitment to training and supporting staff, which allows us to deliver effective, person-centered care.

Collaboration with Families: A relative shared, “The staff asked for our input, and we felt listened to right from the start.”

Promoting Independence: We empower clients to regain confidence in their daily routines. One example shared by staff: “We motivated a client to wash independently after initially needing full assistance.”

We prioritize flexibility and personalization to meet the unique needs of our clients.

Innovative Approaches: From facilitating video calls to connect loved ones to using technology to help clients reminisce about cherished memories.
Social Engagement: Organizing community activities such as lunch clubs to combat isolation.
Where We Have Improved...
Safe
The CQC highlighted areas for improvement in risk management and medication administration.
Key Issues Identified:
Medication Administration: Some inconsistencies in record-keeping and administration.
Risk Management: Care plans lacked sufficient detail in certain areas, such as managing medical conditions or taking into consideration environmental hazards.
Our Actions
We’ve already taken significant steps and improved our processes:
Enhanced Medication Protocols:Completed staff training in medication administration.
Introduced detailed protocols for ‘as needed’ medications (PRN).

Revamped care plans to include comprehensive risk assessments (covering environmental hazards).

As this was our first inspection, we’re proud of the solid foundation we’ve built. We are committed to addressing the areas for improvement and continuing to provide compassionate, effective care.
